Happy Birthday to the person who makes me smile every day, has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known and makes the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Today, J turns the big 2-6 and even though I have to work late, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make it up to him this weekend. He’s a little less excited this year than he’s been in the past-perhaps being legally booted from his current health insurance the minute the clock strikes midnight has something to do with it. It kind of makes me miss the days of birthday parties at the roller skating rink when the only stressful decision was what flavor of ice cream cake to serve. While getting older certainly has its scary moments, there’s so much to look forward to today. I think 26 is going to be the best year yet and I can’t wait to start celebrating with him!
