springtime serenade.
I’ve declared it spring in our house. Valentine’s Day has come and gone, Christmas feels so long ago I can hardly remember it, and on Friday I actually sat outside with a chilled glass of sauvignon blanc. I’m choosing to ignore the 30 degree weather and wintery mix currently pounding down on DC and instead focus on the things I’m most looking forward to this season.

{this beer-rita recipe that begs to be enjoyed on a rooftop in my near future}
{flirty fabrics with structured jackets}
{bowls of fresh fruit for breakfast}

minted.
Even though we just finished writing what felt like a million thank you cards from our wedding, I’m already getting excited to do it all over again. We sent out holiday cards for the first time last year (I fell in love with these), and it was the perfect way to kick off the season. I’ve started scouring the web for ideas, and I keep coming back to minted. We used this site for our Save-the-Dates, and they have the cutest cards for any occasion. It’s tempting to do a personalized cover with a picture from the wedding, but their standard greeting cards are so cute I just might be convinced otherwise. Here are some of my favorites.
november grams.
I don’t know how, but November is just about over. Madness! I was talking to someone at work this week who said quite simply “November was good” and I couldn’t agree more. It was a month of firsts for J & I, of quality family time and of a warmth that only comes with the beginning of the holiday season. Here’s how I’ve spent the past 30ish days (in not-so-chronological order):
- Sunset walks along the mall on an impromptu date night.
- Drinking pints of beer the size of my head (with friends good enough to document it).
- Discovering our favorite Parisian “fast food” spot, Paul, a few metro stops from our apartment.
- Celebrating one month of marriage.
- Taking full advantage of “cheaper” American clothing prices after returning from France.
- Eating more Vace pizza than I will ever admit.
- Finally returning to running after a month off.
- Proudly voting and crying tears of joy as the results rolled in.
- Strolling through the Sculpture Garden on an unusually warm afternoon.
- Curling up on my parents’ couch by the fireplace and reading for hours on end.
